"He came to America with his father when about 14 years of age andremained for several years at Watertown, Mass. removed thence toWethersfield, Ct. probably in 1635 and in May following was one of thecommittee which declared war against the Pequot Indians; he then wasonly 19 years old. He married Sarah Mitchell, sister of the Rev.Jonathan Mitchell of Cambridge, Mass. about 1640. Before 1656 heremoved to Stratford, Ct. and was there an Assistant, or Member of theGeneral Court in 1662, 3, 4 and 5.
